ABOUT MR. LAWRENCE

I'm looking forward to another fine year with the Challenge Program. I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Theater. I also hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kean University.

In 1996, I started my career as a classroom teacher at Shepard School. In my 10 years there, I taught fourth and fifth grade. It was at Shepard that I was honored as Teacher of the Year.

In 2006, I became an elementary technology teacher and traveled between several schools in the district. After 3 years in that position, I was selected to be the Math Challenge teacher and held that position for five years. In the summer of 2014, I worked closely with colleagues, administrators, and a child psychologist to design the current Challenge curriculum.

The Challenge Team continues to expand this innovative program by developing activities, lessons, and experiences for the students. We've made every effort to provide an environment where students are encouraged to use their imagination and expand their creativity.

I look forward to another great year working with these wonderful students.
